I woke of this Saturday morning and made the decision that it was finally time to take the plunge and find a hair salon here in Austin. See, I’m very particular about who I let cut my curly, thick hair. But not only did I find a great place (Paloma, near Mueller), but I found the courage to go for the pixie cut I’ve been admiring since it first showed up on Emma Watson all that time ago. So without further ado…

It topped 80 degrees for the first time this year (already!?!)…time to bring out dresses and skirts instead of sweaters, jeans and boots.

Another Jason Wu for Target dress taken out on the town

Also, please forgive the closet pic…I was having a hard time getting decent lighting outside.

I love a good thrift store find…you know those things you run across tucked far on the back of shelves that you could never really find anywhere else? Well I had two (TWO!) this weekend: a vintage pair of leather Cole Haan Country loafers and a beautiful pair of vintage white Salvatore Ferragamo flats. Normally, I feel kind of weird buying vintage shoes but these were just too beautiful to pass up. You’ll have to wait for the Ferragamo but here are my new loafers: worn in, rich and oh so classically prep.

So classic, so perfect. I especially love the silver detailing and the tassels. To wear, I paired them with a gingham shirt (also thrifted) and a wristful of silver jewelry…everything from Native American Artisan pieces to James Avery to David Yurman.

Now off to make some of this (http://www.thefreshloaf.com/recipes/bananabread) and some of this (http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,1910,150167-248204,00.html) for my class tomorrow.

So I’ve started incorporating my new Jason Wu for Target obsession into my wardrobe. Hey, if I can’t have the real thing (grad student budget), figured I might as well pick out and hunt down the best pieces of the collaboration. I didn’t love all of the pieces that went out, blush just really isn’t my color and there was LOTS of it in the line…but some of the pieces were absolutely ADORABLE! For example, the cuffed navy shorts below.

I especially love the black detailing on the side, adds a nice touch.

Had a realization this weekend while visiting family in rural Louisiana….those cute Jason Wu for Target pieces that are sold out all over Austin are still available in places like Lake Charles, Beaumont, Port Arthur and Baytown. Heading back to Texas, my mom and I made some Target stops along the way and grabbed quite a haul including, but not limited to, a pair of the coveted shorts for $6.76 (guess online returns get marked down?)! Can’t wait to debut my Wu-drobe soon!

I really need to start coming up with better titles for these posts…but like the title says, today I busted out some winter white to spice up my typical jeans and a sweater December-February uniform.

Unfortunately, white jeans are not so great for playing with your puppy…oh well, totally worth walking around with a few mud spots for the afternoon…I like to think dirt gives an outfit character :)

I’ve also realized I’m really bad at including purses in my pictures, so here’s the one I paired with the outfit today

Jeans: Thrifted
Sweater: Land’s End Canvas
Boots: Target
Watch: Michael Kors
Purse: Coach
